The webinars are a part of the ECA Sustainability Community of Practice project, a long-term initiative on building knowledge on sustainability requirements among agribusiness companies in the ECA region - Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The project will include annual sustainability forums, monthly webinars and will establish a regional platform for knowledge exchange on green finance.

Pieternel Boogaard, FMO Agribusiness Director, says: “Agriculture is one of the most important sectors in Ukraine and Eastern Europe where soils are fertile and logistical infrastructure has been built for export to nearby markets. Although techniques and yields have increased over the years, still the sector is struggling to realise its full potential due to inconsistent environmental and social performance. With this initiative, FMO aims to support existing and potential agribusiness clients further in this field, increase their access to finance and their ability to fully utilize practical sustainability solutions and become an example for the world.”

The first webinar "Access to ‘green’ financial products” will take place on September 22, (15:00 - 16:30 CEST).
